Steelhead fishing has been pretty good for us the last month. despite the crazy weather we've been having. The storm in mid November brought alot of snow and cancellations. Now the weather is stabilizing and the fish are in their typical winter water. Beads in washed out colors, yellows and oranges, and spawn are still working good. I expect Jig fishing to get better and better throughout the rest of the year, especially when the Salmon Alevin start getting active. Water temps are in the mid 30s from recent snow melt, and the flows are slow, so multiple drifts in fornt of fish is key to entice a feeding or aggression strike. There is still good fishing opportunity to be had this Winter, and its a great time to get out of the house and enjoy the outdoors and have the river to ourselves.
Joe got into some quality fish not to far from the boat ramp, lots of Bucks that day
Steve with some cookie cutter hens. Lots of wild fish around right now
Justin and Bob finding some good ones in the 20mph winds. Always a riot with these two!
A few moe fish pics, you can never have enough Steelhead, you always want more!
Proud dad moment! I was able to get my youngest son out for a few hours to check acouple spots and he was able to put acouple in the boat with dads help. 4 years old, this kid will be getting them on his own in acouple years!
March and April are starting to book up pretty quick, so if anyone is wanting to get out for Spring Steelhead, give me a call or email. Im looking forward to warmer weather and number days!
